How I Lost 20 Lbs. in 7 Months – in 3 Easy Steps.
Since I began tracking my weight at gyminee.com, I’ve lost 20 lbs. Here’s what I believe to be the top most important changes I made to see this weight change.
Tracking what I eat. Something that really helped me when I started out was tracking everything I eat, and the caloric and nutritional value. I use www.gyminee.com to track all of my eating. Just like I might track all the money I get and spend using something like yodlee.com or mint.com, I track all the protein, fat, carbs and calorie totals I intake each day on gyminee.com. This gives me a handle on I’m eating, and shows me when I’ve had enough or too little of a certain category.
Actively Eating more protein and less carbohydrates. There are so many carbohydrates in things it’s some times ridiculous. True, they are a necessary part of our diet and give us energy to move, but I believe most average food comes with too many of them. For me, proactively trying to eat more protein and less carbohydrates made a world of difference in my waist line.
Not eating late in the evening. I just recently realized how big a difference this can make. During a 2 week period I ate almost exactly the same things, except one week I ate later in the day – sometimes right before going to bed – and the other week I made a strict rule to not eat paste 8 PM. Interestingly enough I had noticeable weight gain the first week, and a noticeable weight loss the second week. I had always heard this was one of the basic tenants of eating healthy, but now I have witnessed it first hand.
