My Favorite Windows Command I Always Forget
I Love this command. It’s great for gathering information about a machine, when all you have is the IP address. The funny thing is that it’s got a very strange name, that I always have a hard time googling: nbtstat
The name basically represents nbt = netBIOS, and stat = the state of the netBIOS. It only works in windows environments, but is gold when you need to get a mac address, domain or hostname, and all you have is the IP address. Such is the case when computers are named after room numbers, and you have a comprimised host, and all you have is the IP address to track it down.
nbtstat
Enjoy!
